Tanzania Has Success Reducing Drug Importation by 90%.
Tanzania has managed to reduce the importation of drugs by 90 percent following the various efforts made by the Government to reduce the problem of drugs in the country.
Speaking today in Dodoma, in celebration of the Day of Blowing Vita Use of Drugs, Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office in charge of policy, Parliament, Labor, Youth, Employment and Disability Jenista Mhagama said that the problem of drugs in society is a cross-cutting issue that requires multi-sectoral cooperation in combating it, including the victims of drugs and society in general, where the government has continued to make various efforts to combat it.

He added that the Authority has succeeded in conducting inspections in 167 companies involved in the importation of the chemical bashirifu, corresponding to capture the amount of 480,000 cubic meters and 22,145 kg of chemicals deposited in bashirifu without following procedure.
Minister Mhagama mentioned other achievements Authority Control and Combating Drugs that are extending medical care to the victims of drug abuse in the country, where there has been an increase of six stations and thus making a total of stations eight until March 2020 vikihudumia victims 8,500 per day from three stations that were vikihudumia 3,500 victims in 2016.
Furthermore, the Authority has supervised access point to prescription methadone for the treatment of addicted to heroin for regulating the importation, distribution and control, strengthening the cooperation of the International and Regional in the fight against the problem of drugs and organized crime in conjunction and the United nation advocating for drugs and Crime (UNODC) as well as other international institutions.
